The Rajasthan government has done away with the two-child norm for candidates in panchayat and municipal elections in the state – a law introduced by the Bhairon Singh Shekhawat government in 1995 to control the state’s population.
Rajasthan minister Jogaram Patel said they have taken scientific evidence into consideration.
